New President of the Supreme Court of Slovakia

JUDr. František Mozner assumed office as President of the Supreme Court of Slovakia on 21 May 2025. 

JUDr. František Mozner has been working at the Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic since 1 April 2016 as a judge of the Criminal Law Chamber, since 9 March 2018 as the President of the Senate, and since 24 October 2019 as the President of the Criminal Law Chamber. 

Mr Mozner is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice.

From 1999 to 2008, he worked in the prosecutor’s office, first as a legal trainee at the District Prosecutor’s Office in Prešov, later as a prosecutor at the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Prešov in the department of first-instance criminal proceedings and the fight against organized crime.

In 2008, Mr Mozner was appointed to the position of judge with assignment to the District Court Košice I. In the years 2008–2016, he served as a judge of the Criminal Law College of the Regional Court in Prešov, and since January 2012 as the Chairman of the Criminal Law College.

In 2021, Mr Mozner became the President of the Association of Judges of Slovakia. Since 2018, he has been the representative of the Slovak Republic in the Consultative Council of European Judges. JUDr. František Mozner is an external member of the teaching staff of the Judicial Academy of the Slovak Republic.
