Mr João Cura Mariano assumed office as President of the Supreme Court of Justice of Portugal on 4 June 2024. President Cura Mariano has been serving as a judge since 1986. Before becoming a Member of the Supreme Court of Justice in November 2020 he had worked in different first and second instance courts and served as Judge of the Constitutional Court of Portugal (2007–2016).
